MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE "BOOK" FOR THE 5/10/18 LIVING LIBRARY:

Alesya Casse, community organizer and activist.

As a community organizer and activist, Alesya Casse is a strong advocate for responsible nuclear waste management programs for communities worldwide, and remains committed to raising awareness about the contamination left in the environment in Colorado at Rocky Flats after the clean-up of the nuclear weapons plant where plutonium triggers were manufactured. Currently, she manages the day-to-day operations of both Candelas Glows and Rocky Flats Glows, while supporting other community groups such as the Rocky Flats Right to Know group. She is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center and works with the Keep Kids off Rocky Flats campaign, speaking to area school districts to encourage them to ban school sanctioned field trips to the Rocky Flats Wildlife Refuge. Her past activities include: leading actions at the Candelas development in Arvada, hosting community meetings on Rocky Flats issues, helping launch the Rocky Flats Downwinders group, and speaking regularly at various schools and Universities in the Denver Metro area.  Hailing from Boulder, and a Colorado Native, she lives in the Denver Area with her husband and two dogs.
