SUMMARY:STUDIO 24: Music Technology: MIDI and Arduino
DESCRIPTION:This hands-on workshop is an introduction to physical computing 
 using the popular Arduino microcontroller platform and MIDI - the Musical 
 Instrument Digital Interface: "MIDI is a technical standard that describes 
 a communication protocol\, digital interface\, and electrical connectors 
 that connect a wide variety of electronic musical instruments\, computers\, 
 and related audio devices for playing\, editing\, and recording 
 music."\nWe'll learn how we can use the Arduino platform to create musical 
 instrument user interfaces from buttons\, sensor\, and other input devices. 
 And\, how we can create MIDI-compatible instruments using Arduino. This 
 workshop is most appropriate for high school-aged learners and 
 older.\n\n\nElectronics Studio\n\nFrom April to June\, STUDIO 24 will be 
 dedicated to playful and practical explorations of electronics. Classes and 
 drop-in experiences will cover a variety of topics from the fundamentals of 
 circuits and coding to creative projects that bring technology and art 
 together. Electronics studio experiences will be facilitated by 
 Maker-In-Residence\, Ayesha Wilson\, alongside Creative Technologists and 
 community educators. Electronics studio is for everyone! Whether you're an 
 experienced tinkerer or you're brand new to electronics\, we invite you to 
 create\, learn\, and explore topics in electronics in a supportive and 
 creative community space.
