Messages of Hope Workshop with Alejandra Abad In-Person

Boulder Public Library will host artist Alejandra Abad and her ongoing project Nuestros Deseos (Our Wishes). Messages of hope will be crowdsourced from the community and then placed on beautiful flags that will be displayed at the library and become part of the ongoing messages. All languages are welcomed. Patrons of all ages are invited to help create the flags and learn from Abad throughout the residency.

About:

Alejandra Abad developed Our Wishes in 2020 as a response to COVID-19 during her time as an Engaged Arts & Humanities graduate scholar at CU Boulder. The ongoing project has been displayed as hand-made banners displayed throughout Boulder and Denver, and was part of BMoCA’s Anythink Fall Artist Showcase in 2021 that travelled to the Public Library Association Convention in 2022 to Portland, the Bemis Library in Littleton, and now continues in 2023 at the Boulder Public  Library.

BMoCA, Anythink and the Thornton community are contributors.
