Community Compassion and Resilience

Community Compassion and Resilience In-Person

Practicing compassion can strengthen our sense of connection and help build community resilience. By expanding our hearts and wishing all beings to be free from suffering, we increase our ability to process grief and trauma, to heal and experience joy. This can also help us break down the barriers regarding whom we ordinarily identify with and extend care to. This session includes a guided compassion practice and time for group discussion.

Note that compassion is among the pillars of joy discussed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu in The Book of Joy.

This guided meditation circle will be led by Holly Gayley, Professor of Buddhist Studies at CU Boulder and Co-Director of the Tibet Himalaya Initiative.
