Space Camp Day 1: Arduino 101

Space Camp Day 1: Arduino 101 In-Person

[Registering for this event automatically enrolls you in Space Camp Day 2, and Space Camp Day 3]

The Apollo Space capsule’s onboard computer had 4 kilobytes of computing memory. The Arduino is a “microcontroller” that has half that much memory, but can be reprogrammed easily and infinitely to turn on lights, move motors, and measure the environment.

Learn the basics of this wildly adaptable, pocket-sized computer on the way to building your own flight-tracking onboard computer for high-altitude balloon flights.

Seats available. Spaces limited. Registration required. Registration link below.

Appropriate for ages 14 and up. Younger astronauts can attend with a parent or guardian, age 14+. (One set of electronics per registrant)

All materials are provided thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Boulder Library Foundation and a Cognizant “Making the Future” grant award.
