Beyond Academia Free “Skool” In-Person

Beyond Academia Free Skool (BAFS) is a nonprofit arts collective that hosts free poetry workshops and
events. BAFS believes poetry is capable of transforming society into a more equitable space in which the
voice of each member of the community is expressed, heard, and valued. Since 2018, BAFS has offered a
free poetry workshop every second Sunday of the month at the Boulder Public Library from 2-6pm.
Workshops include writing prompts, relevant lectures on theory, opportunities to grow one’s poetic
performance, presentations on the work of notable poets and their value to contemporary poetry,
opportunities to share one’s writing, as well as open discussion which builds community and strengthens
the writer's reflective practice. BAFS has served the community since 2012, and was incorporated under
the fiscal sponsorship of the Boulder County Arts Alliance in 2017. All BAFS events are always 100% free
to attend!
