Summer of Discovery: Story in the Rocks Hike In-Person
If you think geology is fascinating but too technical, this family-based nature hike is for you! Boulder’s rocks tell wild stories that include dinosaurs, glaciers, vast swamps and deserts, oceans, and ancient mountain ranges now vanished into the dust of time. Join Open Space and Mountain Parks naturalist Dave Sutherland for a moderately-easy hike into Boulder’s distant past. This is a family hike appropriate for ages 6 and up. Please bring water, a snack, and wear footwear for walking on rocky trails.
Please be sure to register, below. Meet at the NCAR trailhead https://bouldercolorado.gov/osmp/national-center-for-atmospheric-research-trailhead.
To find out more about other activities for youth, teens and adults with the Boulder Public Library’s Summer of Discovery, visit boulderlibrary.org/summer. Be sure to track your reading and activities to collect your prizes by July 31, 2018. Generously sponsored by the Boulder Library Foundation and this hike is made possible by OSMP.
