In the Trenches with Historical Fiction In-Person
In historical fiction, we try stay true to the period but resonate with modern readers; we present life, not a history book. How can our characters’ words capture the era? How do social mores effect relationships? Can we create an accurate world without overwhelming description? We’ll explore shaping dialogue, choosing vocabulary, and making the best use of research. Whether you have an idea or a first draft, bring your characters to this workshop and be prepared to write. Led by Terri Lewis.
Everyone is welcome, no writing experience necessary! Snacks and writing supplies will be provided.
