MahlerFest: The Mahlers in New York In-Person
Composer Gustav Mahler spent several season in New York, conducting the Metropolitan Opera and then the New York Philharmonic. His time in New York was not particularly successful. Joseph Horowitz wrote a fictionalized account of this period in Mahler's life and turned it into this play featuring Gustav and his wife, Alma.
