Proxima-B, The World Through Music's Eyes In-Person
Proxima-B is one of the most exciting woodwind quintets to emerge in recent years. Champions of new music by living composers, you’ll hear this virtuoso wind quintet's ability to paint vivid images for listeners as they voyage through Scottish Isles, German forests, and Japanese folklore. Dance along the trails of light and witness animals from the land, sea, and sky; be transported by the sounds of the saxophone, flute, clarinet, bassoon, and bass clarinet!
This event is organized by a community partner and hosted by the Boulder Public Library. Please use the North Side Canyon Entrance if arriving after 6:30 p.m. Parking is available in both the Canyon and Arapahoe lots. To reach the theater from the Arapahoe lot, you can cross the creek using the exterior bridge. Doors for after hours events typically close 30 minutes after the event starts. This timing is based on the discretion of the event organizer and late admission is not guaranteed.

The Proxyma-B Quintet, started in 2024, strives for musical excellence through collaboration, hard work, and, on occasion, being quite silly. The group consists of Ellie Colson - Flute, Kaitlyn Nohara - Bb Clarinet, Cavan McCullough - Saxophone, Kaitlyn Rosling - Bass Clarinet, and Phillip Aleshire - Bassoon. Primarily performing contemporary music, the quintet has worked with and performed music from composers such as Remi Inari, Michael Gilbertson, and Abdo Timejardine-Zomeño. Through our collaborations and performances, we aim to uplift underrepresented composers and create a space that makes chamber music more accessible and appealing to younger people.
