Ikenobo Grand Showcase: Kōun Ryūsui– Drifting Clouds and Flowing Water In-Person

行雲流水 Kōun Ryūsui – Drifting Clouds and Flowing Water

We invite you to come and enjoy this Three-Day Celebration of Ikenobo Ikebana Japanese Flower Arrangements. The Japanese yojijukugo (idiom) kōun ryūsui teaches us to move effortlessly like a cloud to avoid chaos and strife, and develop an appreciation for the flowing, natural movement of life, like water. See the application of kōun ryūsui in over 50 beautiful ikebana arrangements, along with Edo Period Scrolls (kakejiku), modern Katazome, and other artworks from Japan will be on display.

Join us throughout the weekend for these special events.

Saturday,  May 16, at 1 p.m., Grand Flower Arranging Demonstration by Professor Kobayashi from the Ikenobo Institute in Kyoto, Japan in the Canyon Theater

Sunday, May 17, at 1 p.m., Ikebana Japanese Flower Arranging Demonstration and Tea Ceremony in the Canyon Theater, followed by tea in the gallery at 3 p.m.

Presented by the Official Colorado Chapter of the Ikenobo Society of America
