Digging Out the Pieces: Memoir Writing Workshop In-Person
In this workshop, local author Aimee Herman will guide participants in finding the poetry and stories within us, in whatever form or shape they take. Words, fragments, and shards will be our map as we explore memory, loss, moments of becoming, and our passions.
Prompts will be given to turn our pens into shovels as we dig out what yearns to be written and what is ready to be amplified. Participants will leave this workshop inspired to keep investigating our selves.
Everyone is welcome, no writing experience necessary! Notebooks, pens, and snacks will be provided.
Aimee Herman is a gay, trans educator and writer. They are the author of two books of poetry, “meant to wake up feeling” (great weather for MEDIA) and “to go without blinking” (BlazeVOX books) and the novel "Everything Grows" (Three Rooms Press). In addition, their work can be found in journals and anthologies such as BOMB, cream city review, and "Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics". They currently host literary and queer inclusive events around Boulder County and teach creative writing workshops with Rocky Mountain Equality and Butterscotch Studios in Longmont, CO. Aimee is in the poetry band, Brand New Queers. Find them at aimeeherman.com
