To Write is to Dream: Teen Fiction Writing Workshop In-Person
To write stories is to bring our dreams to the page. In this teen writing workshop, we will set our imaginations free and dive into the wonderful world of fiction. We will write, we will read, and we will share what we write, because art can give us ways to navigate emotions that sometimes feel too big to keep in our heads.
In this workshop, we will explore character, setting, and the way conflict sets the plot into motion by drawing prompts out of “magic bags.” You will be able to write in any genre you prefer—fantasy, magical realism, sci-fi, mystery, suspense, fairy tale, horror, or something else. Anything goes! This is a workshop to explore and play on the page, to let your imagination run wild. Whether you have never written a story before or you've been writing for years, you have a story to tell!
This workshop is open to anyone ages 12 to 18. No prior writing experience is required—just bring your imagination and ideas! Notebooks, pens, and snacks will be provided.
