Water, Water Everywhere, But Not A Drop to Drink - JLF Colorado: International Literature Festival
The global water crisis is reshaping our planet, impacting every ecosystem and community. This urgent conversation explores the cultural, political, and ecological realities of a world running dry. Environmental scientist and founder of ISET International, Marcus Moench has shaped global approaches to urban climate resilience, water governance, and disaster risk management, leading key initiatives such as the India Water Sector Review and the Yemen Decentralized Management Study for the World Bank.
An award-winning historian, author and Faculty Director of CU’s Applied History Initiative, Patricia Limerick has dedicated her career to applying historical insight to modern challenges, redefining the Applied History by foregrounding the experiences of women, Indigenous people, and ecological dynamics.
Cultural anthropologist, ethnobotanist, and writer Wade Davis author of Magdalena: River of Dreams (2020), which is the story of Colombia through the metaphor of the river that made the nation possible and River Notes: Drought and the Twilight of the American West (2023), a natural and cultural history of the Colorado and The Sacred Headwaters (2011) which ultimately played an important role in the successful fight to protect the headwater valley that gives birth to the Stikine, Skeena and Nass, three of the great salmon rivers of British Columbia.
JLF Colorado is a proud sister festival of the world-renowned Jaipur Literature Festival. JLF Colorado is produced by Teamwork Arts and has been hosted each September in Boulder, Colorado since 2014. We bring together inspiring authors and thought leaders from across the state and around the world.
