Beyond Academia Free Skool "Second Sunday" Poetry Class In-Person

Join Beyond Academia Free Skool for our 2nd Sunday Poetry Writing Workshop at the Boulder Public Library, Main Branch every 2nd Sunday of the month. With a new teacher and topic every month, we'll engage in deep discussion, write in response to prompts, and build poetry community!

APRIL: POETRY GAMES & WRITING MARATHON ft. Cicada
April is National Poetry Month and BAFS celebrates each year with a writing marathon: 20 poems in 3 hours. Arrive ready to write write write!
Our teacher this month, Cicada, will bring poetry games and playful prompts to get our juices flowing. Expect Bananagrams poems, Haiku Dice, tarot cards, bibliomancy, model poems and much more.

TEACHER BIO:
Cicada is a new mom, a gardener, and a crafter. She recently took on the
role of BAFS Co-Director and has been the BAFS Summer Camp Program Director
on and off since 2016. Her poetry has been published in the Buddhist Poetry
Review, South Broadway Press’s Thought for Food, a number of Love Shovel
Reviews, and in Punch Drunk Press Anthology 2018, among others. She’s
taught 7th graders how to make zines and write novels, poets about talking
to plants, and anyone who will listen about sharing food together!We invite you to join us for our monthly second Sunday poetry class!
