BLDG 61: Create Customized Back-to-School Locker Magnets In-Person
Let’s kick off the school year with a creative, hands-on project that’s both fun and functional! This beginner-friendly class, taught by community educator Nikoletta, invites you to design and create your very own personalized locker magnet using the library’s laser cutter. Whether you want to showcase your name, a nickname, or a fun phrase, each student will leave with a custom piece they can proudly display when school starts.
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the basics of laser cutting and digital design in a fun and approachable way — no prior experience required! Using Adobe illustrator, you'll get hands-on experience with creating a custom name design and watch the laser cutter bring it to life.
This workshop is suitable for all ages, but youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Additionally, adults should be prepared to support youth as needed in workshop tasks.
