Studio 24: Indigo Dye and Shibori Resist

Studio 24: Indigo Dye and Shibori Resist In-Person

Create a bold shibori patterned kitchen towel using natural indigo dye. Plant-based indigo creates a beautiful blue using a method like no other dye process.  It is one of the oldest dyes used by many cultures around the world. Shibori is a resist technique originating in Japan. Come experience the magic of both amazing processes.

Optional: Bring one freshly laundered (no fabric softener), light colored, 100% natural fiber (cotton, linen, silk, wool) garment to dye. Due to the nature of the dye, participants will only be able to dye two articles, which includes the cloth provided by the library.

This is a popular class, if you’ve previously participated, please allow others the opportunity to register.

Registration required.
