STUDIO 24: Light-Up Tote Bag with EL (Electroluminescent) Panels In-Person
Make a customized glowing canvas tote bag using Electroluminescent (EL) panels! These unique panels emit a soft glow or can be set to two blinking speeds powered by a AA battery pack. In this workshop you will use canvas tote bags to create a unique outline for the panel to glow through. You'll also be able to choose a plastic overlay color and stitch a fabric pocket to hold the electronics while learning about using electronics in fashion accessories. No prior electronics experience required. Each participant will receive a 4"x4" light-up patch and black canvas tote to craft a project with.
Electronics Studio
From April to June, STUDIO 24 will be dedicated to playful and practical explorations of electronics. Classes and drop-in experiences will cover a variety of topics from the fundamentals of circuits and coding to creative projects that bring technology and art together. Electronics studio experiences will be facilitated by Maker-In-Residence, Ayesha Wilson, alongside Creative Technologists and community educators. Electronics studio is for everyone! Whether you're an experienced tinkerer or you're brand new to electronics, we invite you to create, learn, and explore topics in electronics in a supportive and creative community space.
