Sessa Takuma 切磋琢磨  “Polish stone to bring out natural beauty”

Come out and enjoy this celebration of Japanese Flower Arrangements and Edo period scrolls. The Japanese yojijukugo (idiom) Sessa Takuma means to improve by polishing each other, to bring out your natural beauty and encourage each other. Through this focus on the community of ideas we share through flowers, we can learn and grow individually and together. Over 50 beautiful ikebana creations will highlight the season and offer inspiration.

Join us throughout the weekend for special events.

Friday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m., an afterhours special screening of the movie Hana Ikusa (Flower and Sword 2017), 2h 7m, Japanese language with English subtitles, in the Canyon Theater.

Saturday,  Oct. 4, at 2 p.m., an ikebana demonstration followed by a tea ceremony gathering at 3 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. Encore presentation of Hana Ikusa.
