Hop Into Reading Information Session In-Person

Learn about Hop Into Reading, a program that offers foundational reading skills instruction and practice for rising kindergarten and 1st grade students. K-1 students are paired with a high school volunteer tutor for 14 summer sessions (2x/week), with the option to continue Into the school year (1x/week). The high school students are supported with training and materials by a local literacy interventionist who will be present at all sessions. Opportunities for parent education will be available throughout the summer.

Each session, pairs will spend 45 minutes working on developmentally appropriate early reading skills. Instruction will focus on building strong phonological awareness and phonics skills to support future literacy success.

Expect lots of repetition, games, and laughter while your young student has fun building essential early literacy skills!
