STUDIO 24: Printmaking with Collagraph In-Person
Join instructor Renate Mairie at STUDIO 24 for a three hours class diving into collagraph printmaking.Collagraph is a printmaking technique that combines features of intaglio, relief, collage, and construction. Using mat board and other various flat, textural materials like lace, textured paper, or cut-outs we will create a plate that can be inked and printed onto paper.
Renate Mairie is a native Boulder resident with strong ties to the artistic community as well as its democratic institutions. She has worked at the Boulder Public Library's Main branch for 7 years. She holds a BA in Art History & Printmaking from CU Boulder, and an MA in Psychology from Regis University. Renate has been an arts educator for 10 years, as well as an artist with over three decades of work in photography, painting, printmaking and textiles. She is deeply inspired by her students and loves to nurture talent at all levels. She has served on the Board of Groundworks Art Lab for 8 years and was instrumental in their printmaking program studio development. Her art resonates with celestial themes and the foundations of what brings humanity together.
Boulder Public Library presents Printmaking Studio in STUDIO 24! During this 3-month focus (January–March 2025), we invite patrons to immerse themselves in printmaking with workshops, classes, and drop-in activities featuring relief printing, screen printing, etching, monoprinting, collagraph, letterpress, and beyond! Workshops will be led by our Maker in Residence Andi Newberry, as well as a talented team of community partners, and Makerspace staff.
