LED Clothing Workshop: Adding Sparkle to Your Wardrobe In-Person

This workshop, hosted by Maker in Residence Ayesha Wilson, is perfect for those with basic crafting or sewing skills who are interested in exploring the fusion of electronics with fashion. Participants will learn to add LED lights into fabric items using conductive thread or attach them with glue, depending on their comfort level. Additionally, attendees will discover how to program the LED lights to display fun colors and patterns, adding a personalized touch to their creations. The session will include lessons on basic circuit design and safety tips for wearable electronics, along with inspiring creative ways to enhance your garments with LEDs. By the workshop's conclusion, participants will create their own unique piece of wearable tech to take home. Please bring a garment you wish to embellish!
