Motus Music to Restore the Heart: Special Holiday Candlelight Concert

Motus Music to Restore the Heart: Special Holiday Candlelight Concert In-Person

Join violinist Anthony Salvo and Motus Theater’s founding executive artistic director Kirsten Wilson for an opportunity to rest deeply in ourselves in a field of shared blessing. Entering into the holidays and a month after a tumultuous election, we are each holding diverse experiences of personal and political vulnerability, and negotiating what it is to be a human being at this time. Motus offers our community a candlelight event to help us rest in our hearts within a tranquil experience of melodious beauty. It is a sweet and tender holiday concert. Perfect for relaxation, reflection, and aligning your spirit with your truest intentions.

Before the music, from 3pm-3:30pm, Motus offers tea and cookies. And, if you want to gather for a special storytelling event, join Motus Playback Theater even earlier, from 1pm-3pm, to share your biggest questions, quirky reflections or stories. Then, Colorado’s most diverse Playback improv theater troupe, Motus Playback Theater, will reenact our stories on the spot. Whether your reflection is joyful, fearful or fantastic Motus Playback will play your experience back to you with a musical underscore from Adolfo Romero.

Violinist Anthony Salvo has been composing, teaching and performing on Colorado’s front range for over 22 years. Steeped in much of the world’s musical cultures, as well as embodying an extensive knowledge of classical and jazz idioms, he revels in bringing new and exciting energy to roots traditions in a jazz setting. He is a free jazz improviser, gypsy jazz violinist, a crossover fusion musician in Indian, Gypsy, Middle Eastern, and African music, as well as a teacher and composer. Anthony has collaborated with the executive artistic director of Motus Theater, Kirsten Wilson on many projects. Most notably, he underscores Motus Monologue performances, and the stories within Motus Theater’s UndocuAmerica podcast, Shoebox Stories.
