STUDIO 24: Ghoulish Garbs: Upcycled Halloween Costume Workshop In-Person

This drop-in workshop will give patrons a chance to chat with a designer about their Halloween costume ideas, with a focus on reusing old cloths and household items we will have t-shirts to alter and plenty of embellishments, but patrons are encouraged to bring clean clothing from home to alter for this fun workshop. All ages.  


Boulder Public Library presents Fiber Studio in STUDIO 24!   During this 3-month focus (October-December), we invite patrons to take a deep dive into all things fiber with workshops, classes, and drop-in activities featuring sewing, weaving, spinning, needlework, and beyond!  Workshops will be led by our Makers in Residence (Heather Schulte and Steven Frost) as well as many community partners.

Steven Frost (they/them) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies at CU Boulder and an interdisciplinary fiber artist. Their research focuses on textiles, queer studies, and community development in public spaces. Using weaving, Frost combines traditional materials like yarn and cotton with non-traditional materials from a range of sources, exploring the ways history and time are embedded in materials. Frost is a Co-Founder of the Experimental Weaving Residency, Slay the Runway, and Colorado Sewing Rebellion. They were named a 2023 Mover and Shaker by Library Journal and are a former Chair of the Boulder Library Commission.
