STUDIO 24: Sassy Sash: Pageant Sashes with Attitude In-Person
In this workshop, participants will make pageant sashes. However, inspired by icons like Courtney Love and Chapel Roan, these sashes will express the maker’s attitude, style, or personal motto. Participants will learn to make iron-on appliqués, follow a pattern, and create a simple sash with or without a lining. Age 14+

Steven Frost (they/them) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies at CU Boulder and an interdisciplinary fiber artist. Their research focuses on textiles, queer studies, and community development in public spaces. Using weaving, Frost combines traditional materials like yarn and cotton with non-traditional materials from a range of sources, exploring the ways history and time are embedded in materials. Frost is a Co-Founder of the Experimental Weaving Residency, Slay the Runway, and Colorado Sewing Rebellion. They were named a 2023 Mover and Shaker by Library Journal and are a former Chair of the Boulder Library Commission.
