The Power of the Indigenous Vote: Legal History and Modern Advocacy In-Person
Honor Native American Heritage month and prepare for the nearing election by joining us for a lecture and discussion on the history of Native American's access to the polls and the tremendous power of the Indigenous vote. We will learn from Colorado Law Professor Christina Stanton about the laws, advocacy, and modern movements to increase Native America's participation in elections. Native American Rights Fund Attorney Allison Neswood will discuss the ongoing fights to defend Native American voting rights in the courts. You will learn how you can support national and local efforts to ensure that everyone who wants to vote is able. Light refreshments provided.
Leading up to the election, the Boulder Public Library invites all community members to rediscover the history and importance of voting in our country through our fall Democracy Series. From interactive storytimes to insightful workshops, this engaging series will foster community connections as we navigate this election year together.
