Reconnect with Your Body Dance Class

Reconnect with Your Body Dance Class In-Person

Experience movement and music in ways that are enjoyable and stimulating. Explore the power of dance, creativity and expression. All bodies are welcome, no experience necessary. Class begins in chairs, and everything we do standing can be done seated. Dance has the power to transform and heal – plus it’s fun!
Presented by Art as Action.

Sarah Leversee is the Founder and Artistic Director of Art as Action, a physically integrated dance company that is redefining what it means to be a DANCER.

A life-long dancer, Sarah is the lead teaching artist, choreographer and facilitator of Art as Action’s Reconnect with your Body program.  Reconnect started as a small dance class in 2011 and has become a thriving multi-faceted program that includes virtual and in-person weekly classes and community engagement in the Parkinson’s and dance communities throughout Colorado.  Reconnect offers a safe place to gain confidence in movement and explore new challenges within a supportive community.

In addition to her 22 years with Art as Action, Sarah has a wide-ranging choreographic and performance background and experience teaching dance to all ages.

Sarah was named a Stanley J. Wertheimer Fellow for Dance for PD® by the program’s founder, David Leventhal, which provides in-depth training and mentorship to exceptionally qualified teachers offering high quality dance classes modeled after the Dance for PD® program. Sarah was selected as a support teacher for David Leventhal’s Dance for PD® class at the World Parkinson’s Congress in Portland, OR in 2016.  Leventhal calls her “a leader in the field.”
