Special Kids Concert: Elisa & Leo: Latin American Folk Songs In-Person
Celebrate the begininng of Summer of Discovery! Elisa Garcia plays Latin American folk songs from Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, down to Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay. Bringing rhythms like huapango, boleros, cumbias, zambas, and candombes, she takes listeners on a journey through Latin America. The Uruguayan singer/guitarist is accompanied by her husband, Mexican percussionist Leo Munoz-Corona, (who has toured with artists like Willie Colon, Jaguares, Lucero, Juanes and many more). She will also be presenting a music and movement class July 15.
Elisa is currently living in Colorado with her husband and daughter. She plays Latin American folk songs with her trio/quartet which includes her percussionist husband Leo Muñoz Corona, and pianist Victor Mestas. They play a variety of styles from Cuban boleros to Mexican huapangos to Argentinian zambas and Uruguayan candombe.
