Go Club Anniversary Celebration In-Person
Boulder Kids and Teens Go Club will celebrate 20 years of teaching kids how to play the Asian board game known as Go. The club has been teaching children at the Boulder Public Library for long enough that some of its kids are now adults who teach at the club. Started in 2004 by Paul Barchilon and Dave Weiss, the club used the popularity of Japanese anime and manga about Go players to draw kids in. With regular attendance of 20-30 people a week, the club is one of the longest running all volunteer programs at the public library. Join us for cake and ice cream to celebrate!
Learn to play the ancient and mysterious board game known as Go. Developed 4000 years ago in China, the rules are so simple they can be taught in a few minutes--but it can take a lifetime to master the game. Go boards are provided and take-home sets made of cardboard are available for free. Ages 5 and up.
