Boulder Bookies: Online
Boulder Bookies is a discussion group conducted on Zoom. Our selections range widely, with books in English and in translation, contemporary and classic. Members select the books in twice yearly nominations and balloting.
We meet on the third Friday of each month, 1:00-2:30 PM. For book selections and Zoom invitation, contact john.dunn@colorado.edu.
The Gift, Vladimir Nabokov
The Gift is set in post-World War I Berlin, where Nabokov himself had been an émigré.
Steeped in satiric detail about the Russian émigré community, the novel tells parallel
stories of the protagonist Fyodor’s maturation as a gifted young writer and of his love
affair with Zina, a fellow émigré.
This event is not hosted by the Boulder Public Library and may be updated, changed, or canceled with little notice. This program is produced by a community partner - we hope you enjoy! Tips on internet safety and privacy.
