Tree Care Basics: Planting, Pruning, and Maintenance In-Person
Trees are a vital part of Colorado landscapes, but many trees struggle in our urban environment. This class will discuss how you can maintain the health of your trees, including how to choose appropriate trees for Front Range landscapes, proper tree planting techniques, and basic tree care for new and established trees. We will also discuss basic pruning techniques for ornamental and fruit trees, including when to prune, and when to hire an arborist.
About the instructor: Micaela Truslove is the Commercial Horticulture Specialist for Colorado State University Extension in Boulder County. She holds an MS in Forest Sciences and an MA in Sociology with an emphasis in environmental sociology from Colorado State University and has over 10 years’ experience working in landscape horticulture, urban forestry, and urban agriculture along the Front Range. Micaela is passionate about connecting people and landscapes through education, outreach, and community engagement.
