Máscaras de Jaguar con CHAC / Jaguar mask with CHAC Gallery In-Person

Los jaguares son muy importantes en América Latina
Aunque son felinos amenazados por la cacería y la pérdida de su hábitat, los jaguares aún viven en más de 18 países al sur de los Estados Unidos. Para los pueblos indígenas de México representan valor, ferocidad y poder.

En este taller gratuito con el colectivo artístico CHAC elaboraremos máscaras de jaguar de la tradición de los pueblos Mayas de la Península de Yucatán.

Aprenderemos sobre el significado que tienen los bellos diseños de estas máscaras.

Taller bilingüe (Inglés-Español) para toda la familia, para todas las edades.

Al término del taller cada participante o familia podrá llevar su máscara.

Jaguars are very important in Latin America
Jaguars continue to exist in more than 18 nations south of the United States despite threats from hunting and ecological destruction. It signifies courage, ferocity, and power to Mexico's indigenous people.
- We will create jaguar masks in this free workshop with CHAC Gallery using techniques from the Yucatan Peninsula's Mayan culture.
- Workshop in English and Spanish, for all ages. We welcome families.
- At the end of the workshop, each participant or family will be able to take his mask home.
