The Art of Wood: Introduction to Box Making

Join us at BLDG 61 for an introduction to shop class by designing and building your own decorative box under guidance of expert instructors. We will be using Emerald Ash Borer affected ash wood that has been prepared by Bridge House apprentices through the TreeOpp program. Understand that this is a session developed as an introduction to woodworking, and we do not expect expertise. We do expect attendees to be attentive and respect shop rules. Masks and eye protection will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own.

We will be using equipment in the shop to create decorative finger joint boxes. Additional shop time will be made available for finishing work, sanding, and oiling final pieces (see calendar for details and to register).

Please arrive on time. Shop safety training will take place at the beginning of the session. Carefully review the registration form for what is required.

Space is limited, please register to confirm your spot. Ages 14+.

All attendees must fill out our Acknowledgement of Risk and Release Form prior to use of makerspace.
