In Search of Elusive Visitors: Animal Tracking Basics In-Person

Who calls this wild neighborhood home and which travelers passed by under last night’s starry sky? Most of us don’t spot a lot of wild animals while out hiking, but if we hone our observation skills, we can learn to read the tracks that were left behind, what animal made them and what it was doing. Learn tracking basics with naturalist Betty Naughton. Find out how to identify tracks of local animals.

OSMP walking events related to the exhibit Art Inspired by the Land will begin or end at the Main Boulder Public Library. Please call Juanita Echeverri, OSMP, at 303-413-7616 to reserve a seat as space is limited. You’ll be notified of the starting location upon registration. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for walking outdoors.

Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) presents Art Inspired by the Land, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Boulder residents’ passage of America’s first dedicated open space sales tax, which has helped the city to acquire and protect more than 45,000 acres of open space.  An immersive art installation designed by Studio TJOA will highlight artworks submitted by community members. Visit the Boulder Public Library Canyon Gallery August 5 - September 10 to traverse the canyon installation and appreciate artwork inspired by the land around Boulder.
