The Build a Better Book Project is all about developing and making stories using anything but written words. These stand alone weekend workshops will utilize different maker technologies to develop multi-modal means of story telling. Technologies covered: 3D design and printing, laser cutting, simple machines, electronics, and pop-up books.
This week: Paper Engineering
Learn how to make the action in your favorite book literally pop out of the page and create a new experience for the reader. We will explore pop-up books and 2D/3D design and play with different mechanisms of movement as we design pop-up pictures. Tech Focus: FabMaker Studio, Silhouette Cameo craft cutter.
Appropriate for ages 11-18. Space is limited, registration required.
All attendees must fill out our Acknowledgement of Risk and Release Form prior to use of makerspace.
